 1. What is EnteroBiotic and what does it contain?
EnteroBiotic enriches diet in yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii beneficial for health which provide body’s protection during frequent journeys and the use of antibiotic therapy. Saccharomyces boulardii is the only yeast probiotic of efficiency documented in double blinded clinical trials. These yeasts are used in many countries both in adjunct therapy and alleviating the symptoms of diarrheas of various etiology. EnteroBiotic was enriched in inulin which actively modifies the composition of intestinal microflora and intensifies antidiarrhoeal activity of the yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii.

2. What is the action of individual components of EnteroBiotic?
Improper diet (poor in fibre and rich in protein and fat), chronic stress, antibiotic therapy as well as genetic and immune factors may impair intestinal microflora and in this way lead to a dysfunction of gastrointestinal and immune system. The use of probiotics and prebiotics allows to restore the proper intestinal microflora and in consequence improves the functioning of the whole body. During the antibiotic therapy yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii constitute temporary (do not permanently colonize the colon) protective microbial barrier ensuring the proper function of intestines, restoring natural, beneficial for health intestinal microflora and supporting the action of immune system. The mechanism of action of yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii is multidirectional and is based on:
• preventing the creation of or lessening the symptoms of diarrhea induced by the toxins of pathogenic bacteria by the reduction of permeability of intestine’s mucous membrane and the secretion of water and electrolytes into its lumen,
• antidiarrhoeal activity in case of intolerance of food components by the increase of activity of enzymes decomposing disaccharides such as: lactose, saccharose and maltose,
• supporting the immune system cells connected with gastrointestinal system by the increase of the production of immunoglobulin A,
• regenerating and nourishing action towards mucosa and epithelium of the intestine by the increase of the concentration of polyamines and increased production of short-chain fatty acids.

Inulin belongs to the soluble dietary fibre fraction, prone to bacterial fermentation in colon with the creation of short-chain fatty acids which are beneficial for health. Inulin is an ideal prebiotic as it shows bifidogenic effects which means that it selectively stimulates the growth of Bifidobacterium bacteria which are beneficial for health by improving the functioning of intestines during antibiotic therapy and also produce B-group vitamins, among others folic acid. Short-chain fatty acids (SCFA) by decreasing pH in the colon:
• limit the development of pathogenic microorganisms,
• stimulate the development of lactic acid,
• decrease the concentration of many toxic metabolites.
Moreover, SCFA support antidiarrhoeal action of yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii, because they stimulate reverse resorption of water and mineral salts (sodium, chlorine and potassium) in the colon and also regulate the motility of smooth muscles and blood flow of the mucosa of the colon. Additionally, they increase the absorption of calcium ions which is very important in keeping the whole body healthy in case of the higher loss of this valuable mineral component by gastrointestinal system. In addition, SCFA are used by colonocytes (cells lining the epithelium of the colon) as preferred source of energy enabling them full regeneration of mucosa and the epithelium of the colon.

3. Ideal probiotic
Yeasts Saccharomyces boulardii hold the features of an ideal probiotic because they show:
• high survival outcomes during moving through gastrointestinal tract (resistant to gastric juice, proteolytic enzymes and biliary acid salts),
• optimum increase in the physiological temperature of the host, at the wide pH scope (additionally they do not require keeping in a refrigerator!),
• effective, though temporary colonization of the colon,
• natural resistance to commonly prescribed antibiotics.

4. Fluidisation and microencapsulation and the lyophilisation
Among the preparations available in the market EnteroBiotic marks out with a new, revolutionary method of dehydration of yeasts which considerably increases their lifespan. In the commonly used lyophilisation process there are drastic methods of dehydration and drying of microorganisms (freezing with liquid nitrogen, vacuum sublimation). Conditions which are yeasts exposed to cause damage to the cells’ walls, membranes, proteins and enzymes and in consequence the loss of cell’s integrity. During rehydratation of liophilisate which takes place after administration of the preparation, yeasts are exposed to another extreme shock which leads to decreased lifespan during the transit through gastrointestinal track. New, patented procedure of drying microorganisms with the use of fluidisation, in controlled temperature with small vacuum and later microencapsulation allows to retain optimum moisture, integrity and vitality of cells.

5. Way of administration
You should take 1-2 capsules a day, between meals (do not swallow with hot liquid).

You should not exceed the recommended daily dose.

It is imortant to lead a healthy lifestyle and supply a balanced nutrition. Dietary supplement should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet.
